Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Staging and Design?

Staging focuses on attracting potential buyers by having them look past the personal details and see the specific features of the house whether those are architectural, great views, great location, etc. Since 95% of buyers find homes through the Internet, Staging ensures that the photos online reflect the best features of the home that will appeal to the demographic of people who are shopping in your neighborhood.

Design is focused on you as a homeowner.  We discuss your lifestyle and design preferences and then determine how best to make your home reflect those characteristics to give you ultimate enjoyment.

How long is a typical consultation?

Initial consultations typically occur in your home and can last up to two hours. Prior to meeting we will have a phone conversation to discuss objectives and the consultation process.

At the end of the consultation will my home be staged and ready for sale?

A consultation will identify the areas that need attention to maximize interest from potential buyers. Depending on the condition of your home and your market, this can be an extensive list. Generally, de-cluttering and de-personalizing, are two areas that every homeowner needs to do in order to prepare for sale.

What is Design Project Management?

Every project in your home has complexity; some more than others. We have found that even with a general contractor working on a large renovation project, there are many tasks that are outside of their area of responsibility. Most homeowners do not know what these items are or how or when to get them done. This is where we can help. We work with you and your contractors to ensure critical decisions are made in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary delays and increased costs to your overall project.

What is a Color Consultation?

In a color consultation we will discuss your objectives for an area of your home or your whole home. Are you looking to refresh a space from a color you “inherited” when you moved in? Have you lived in your home a long time and you want to have a more modern color palette? Did you buy a new piece of furniture and it doesn’t look good with your current wall colors? We can help.
